I was thinking those look a bit different than any of the US pistons I have seen.

looks like a piston to suit 885 (i.e. i or seta) my guess is a 325i piston based on size of valve reliefs. Eta ones are either flat, dished or domed and those look bioth dished and domed so unlikely an ETA

Looks like an ETA piston that has had a valve contact it(broken timing belt). I have a block in the garage with those right now

it was not timing belt problem, i was running 9000+ rpm on 2nd gear, so the block was blowen :/

                WTF?

I am thinking this is a 2000 post club gag or something. NO WAY someone would ever claim this.

                I do not believe.

                  A 2000 post gag??

An ETA is basically a nickname for the 325e or furthermore the engine in the 325e. It comes from the greek alphabet or something, right?

i dont think its a gag. this guy posted on bfc. seemed like english wasnt his first language or something cause he wasnt making much sense over there. says he took the rev limiter off, revved as high as he could and sent a rod through the block. he was posting asking questions about putting different heads on 2.7 blocks.
