the head might be but I wouldn't use that cam personally. It will "work" but it'll be down on power.

What would anyone think a reasonable price would be for a head like this? I am going to try to get part of my money back for this and I need to know what a fair price would be cause I am sure its far from $300, atleast it is IMO.

That thing really is toast. I'd pay $75 for it as a core. With the rockers and cam being shot like that, there isnt much of any value if you were to strip it down. Basically the only good thing there is the dual valvesprings.

The casting itself is obviously pretty far-gone too, though repairable/runable. Get your money back.

Alright, I'll probably ask for a partial refund and just fix the head. I got tax money coming so I can afford to replace the rockers and I have an extra cam shaft I can stick in there. Now, I just have to find out what its going to cost to get it honed and machined flat :)

The most I would pay for that is about $9, since that's the scrap value of 20 lbs of dirty aluminum. Get ALL your money back, and look for a better head. Thor's right; the only thing possibly good are the springs, retainers, locks, and valves. Trying to repair something like that just isn't worth it. Give the seller a brass-knuckle beat-down, get your cash back, and go find a better one.

We'll see what happens but I am pretty disappointed with everything. I severly needed this since I need my car to be running... :(

Looks like a dirty/clogged oil spray bar caused most of the damage.

^^Looks like it lost either a lot of oil pressure or never had an oil change to me. The cam journals dont rely on the spray bar for lubrication.

That's true. I'm thinking $175 for a new Lemforder cam + $150 for new BMW rocker arms (not the Febi stuff)(been a while since I priced those) + $100 for the machine work (on the dirt-cheap end of the spectrum) = $425 = not worth it. There would still be more $$ to be spent if you wanted a "perfect job".

Well, I have an extra cam that is in good condition, and I can get a deal on head work too.
