How steady is your idle?

How do these compare to others like spal etc? Where did you order it from?

396, 116 is a straight blade.

I got it from summit. Don't know how it compares to SPAL, actually I'm not sure why everyone is fixated on that brand. it's been fine for over two years. you can barely hear it when it comes on. :)

just change your resistor, mine didn't work on either setting, changed the resistor up from and viola, both speeds work

I thought the resistor is used only on low setting, and is bypassed at high speed? Odd. I'll look more into it tomorrow, too hot out right now.

it is. I don't think the resistor is your problem.

Fan was dead... along with two aux fuses. Relays were fine. Replaced the fan with my late model fan and it's a little quiter, will go with this for now.

nando - just noticed 396 is 4" thick? that might not fit.

it's 4" thick at the highest point. It curves in on the edges.

I dunno, fits in my car fine. I can take pics of the clearance. I don't have A/C, but the condenser isn't that big.

Yeah, that makes sense, I should have measured clearance from the condenser to the front of the valance when I replaced my stock fan.

mine runs at 700 RPM smoothly, never surged and battery says 13.2v when charging....a little low but otherwise good.

Yeah, mine still has a little 50rpm up/down thing... i'll try another ICV tomorrow.

Odds are its not that, id bet money on it.
Check the harness ground, you already said the battery is good, probably dont have vacuum leaks since you put it all together. Did you get the correct valve cover to side of bellows breather with the small nipple coming off the side? Unplug the o2 sensor and see if the problem goes away by going into open loop.

Yeah harness ground is good, both are right by the battery. The only vacuum leak that could still be there is in the brake booster area as I didn't touch it, or possibly that check valve on the booster vacuum hose or the "L" bracket.

Valve cover came with the engine, gaskets came from autohausaz. Do you have a picture of this breather/nipple?
