I don't think there is much you can do to install a clutch fan, unless you use an e30 324td fan, which has a very slim profile.
Congrats on the swap choice, you'll love the M30 torque at ANY RPM.Recent Rebranding!!

Not to double post, but you might wanna think of a SPAL fan in FRONT of the radiator.
It's provided all the cooling I ever needed, even in July NYC traffic.Recent Rebranding!!

The "swirlie" blade ones are quieter - but it really doesn't make a difference in these old, loud cars.Last edited by george graves; 01-22-2010, 07:46 PM.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?

+2. Using late model a/c fan, switch it on manually to 1/2 speed when in traffic.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

You can't run a mechanical fan from what I have seen and read. So it probably will be an electrical fan controlled by a thermoswitch. Don't want to deal with remembering to manually turn it on.
We'll see if the AC fan or an SPAL. Cost might be a deciding factor.
