I have a wedding to be at today around 2:45 and then After that. It's literally 3 wires and fluids, and make sure the gas tank isn't gummy and I'm start up.

Radiator is in, coolant lines hooked up and crimped, wiring done, vac lines accounted for, and triple checked my wiring, but still had to take a slight guess, but it was more or less obvious regarding the c101.

I would never give an m30 anything less than a mobil 1 full synthetic, and its only 25 bucks more for this comparing to dinosaur poo, it's a no brainer given the age of the engine. But yes it was expensive, the gear oil and mtl was pretty up there. Personally, I am tempted to pour this purple shit over ice and give it a try! lol

I guess my big point is, there is going to be a "next" owner of this swap, and they will be thankful I didn't treat this swap like a bunch of leftovers, and I think my components will be happy as well :)

I had a few components missing for start up today, and my dumb ass ordered male pins when I need female pins for the wiring loom. Whatever, gives me spare time to figure out a driveshaft.

    "bro"....
I don't know if you two are joking :D
Hey better find some oil that met the excellent requirements
from 40 years ago. Maybe honey might be an equivalent or maybe used oil that has 20,000 on it.

While you're there don't bother using today gasoline or tires find some tires that use the same technology from
40 years ago they should be great.

    I'll have to agree
I'm all for treating out new to us engines with the best fluids we can find, however I think plain old Dino oil will do the trick.

I indeed bashed in the firewall, further more for the g265 to fit with position 3.5 you have to knock the drive side and top portion of the trans tunnel.

Ya, we will see when that kit will get use , I'm thinking with the n54.

    Nice work insofar!
The head literally looks glued to the firewall, did you bash it in some?

Ive tried posting this update 2 times now, SCREW this computer, it even ate my "copy' trying to save my own ass!

I hope to have start up tomorrow, wiring is in, just a few bolts need to be fastened, hoses are relocated, but I need to do so coolant hose rerouting, literally 2 inches worth.

Had to hand bend that hardline at the firewall

This is a g265 notorious bitch bolt if you install the engine with the bellhousing first, without the trans attached, the other bolts are at reach just fine, but not even a swivel socket will make that puppy work, I had to grind down a crows foot in order for it to work, $10 bucks from harbor freight made this job a 5 minute ordeal.
Uppder bolt way up in the pic.

    said crowsfoot

Little bit of cancer in this photo, my 84 had a couple tricks here; The late model wiring loom end clam for the ecu wouldn't fit through the stock hole in the firewall. Along with that my early model did not come with a perforation in the metal for me to relocate me battery, I had to make the hole myself.

overall shot of the engine bay

I picked up this snow performance methanol injection kit for free dollars!
