Thanks man, kinda took the wind outta my sails...I had intentions on actually getting the engine turned over.

Bang the firewall even more? It's allready pushed back a good 2" or so-I'll smack it up some more for good measure

Leveler is the way to go-didn't have a buddy helping today so it was tough

Also...somehow fuel started leaking at fuel filter today so weird.

That's when I threw in the towel

Pull the pump fuse. For extra measure. I know what ya mean when mine wouldn't start just makes wanna throw in the towel. Before you smack it up up load a couple more pics. I noticed for me fitment was more of an issue by the battery tray

        Haven't touched anything thing since...

        Thoughts on more hamering?

Oh and as for the gas leak I'm stumped
There was no exaggerating a good pint of gasoline at the rear of the car by the fuel filter
I'm wondering if I snagged a fuel line when u had the engine in and out a million times today?
Also had the car jacked up at quite an angle with a full tank...

Either way under I go tomorrow to inspect...

Hammering should be good. I'm stumped on gas leak as well

Where is you leak coming from?
Rear of car/or along a fuel line run?

Huh? My car didn't have a leak. I'd say though yours is probably a fuel

My engine and transmission flew in. I originally purchased a load leveller from ebay but it was a cheap one that is more designed for a 4cyl, if you biased the chains for the angle required to get it in then the front did not have enough adjustement on the tilt to get it back on the mounts. Should be ok with a more expensive/longer balance bar. My solution was rear of engine held on the hook and chain on the crane, front of engine on a block and tackle attached parallel to the front lifting eye. I just wrapped a load strap round the crane and hooked the block and takle onto load strap.

Had 2 failed attempts on the balance bar, much scratching of head, then came up with the new method and I was on the mounts within 10minutes of setting up. Had so much control over it and was no effort against winding the balance bar.

I think load leveler is the way to go especially if I'm dropping in solo.

1euro my bad I misunderstood and thought you were also chasing a fuel leak

                      Fuel leak found

                      Not a line strangely.
Previous owner used some ghetto caulking instead of a proper gasket at the fuel level sender...and when tank is full, fuel seeps out when the car leans to the drivers side.

Easy fix with the proper gasket I need to find.
