Ok a few more questions for the pro's...

The new harness (89 325i) has alot more pins than the 86 eta fuse box connector. Does this mean that i need a 325i fusebox?

    Ok next.

What do these 3 wires do on both my old and new harness? They are different colors, so i dunno if they match or ever go to the same thing.

Lastly, wtf is this. Only on my 325es harness.

    THanks to anyone!

First, you may not have all of the functions of the i harness in the e car, so if any wires dont match, just don't use them! Haha, thats the simple solution...

Second, on the e harness I think they go to the gauge cluster. Not sure on the i harness....

Third, that is the idle control module. You won't be using that with the i harness, only etas and early M30 cars with motronic used those, the later electronics (your i harness) have the idle control valve run right off the ecu.

Do you have the pinouts? Most likely they are for sensors that you will not need, or you will need to rewire elsewhere. Oil level sensor for example... If you have pinouts, I will help you determine which ones in the harness are necessary and which ones are not.

In my experience, you will have every necessary function and a few that are connected to warning lights / diagnostic / check panel. There are only like 6 or 7 wires that HAVE to be connected for the car to run... At least that was the case in my swap and I have an '84 325e chassis.

'87 325i harness would work better, wouldn't it?

Is an M3 driveshaft a direct fit?

It also depends on which motorposition you decide to go with and which mounts you use/make/buy.

I see, i thought i read somewhere it was a direct fit. I'm going to use the e30.de mounts with either pos 2 or 3, or 2.5. Which driveshaft is a direct fit? It's so hard to find a straight answer...

                        So i have a full E30 M3 driveshaft, 89 325i driveshaft, and access to an e28 535i driveshaft, and an E32 735i driveshaft...

Anyone know what the hell is going on with mye28.com? I registered months ago and am still not confirmed/added.

maybe cuz you have an e30...

How did you guys hook up the cooling and the heater core with the M30? and And I'm guessing the send line is the one that comes from the filter right... into the FPR?

And does the M20 wiring harness have a sensor for the EGR valve like the M30 does?

I'm also stumped on the heater core connections... a diagram of sorts would be golden about now.

I used the stock M30 (6 series) hoses to the heater core and they fit perfectly.
