Not necessarily. The C103 plug is a toughie, and if it's not correct you won't be able to start the car. Before you go after the starter, test for voltage on the center pins of the MAIN relay with the key in the "on" position. From there test for voltage at the starter. Just trying to save you some grief.

Way to make it to this point though! You are almost done with the hard stuff!

Alright, thanks...maybe it's because I don't have the e30 c103 wires going anywhere. I couldn't find anything to match them up with so I didn't connect them to anything. in hindsight, maybe that was a bad idea...

Alright, well I figured out the starter plug (BL/YW) was on the wrong plug on the starter, which makes me feel like an idiot but I'd rather feel like an idiot than have an excessively complicated wiring issue.

As of now the engine turns over but does not start, so thats the next thing I'm addressing.

Oh and I promise I will get some pics, it's funny the pictures have been becoming fewer and fewer as my pace picks up and I get more excited about merely finishing the swap!

Ok, since you have rotation and no start you need to confirm you are getting fuel and spark. Fuel is easy, you can have someone listen or touch the pump while you crank, or you remove a fuel line and stick it in a bottle. Spark is simple too, just remove one spark plug wire, put an extra plug in it, and ground the plug against the engine or chassis while cranking (be careful, you might want to wear gloves). My bet is no spark, and I bet the reason is the main relay. If it turns out that this is the case you can jump the main relay and have a running car in a matter of minutes.

Edit: After reading your post about the C103, you will need to wire it up BUT I'm still betting you will need to jump the main relay. PM me and I'll send you details.

I believe I am getting fuel, but I am not getting a spark. The ignition coil gets power but no spark. I've checked the main relay (i think) and replaced all the relays with ones that I know work from my e30...The only thing I can think of is it has something to do with the flywheel sensors (since b32's are flywheel triggered) I think my flywheel might not have the little doohickey that sets of the sensor...that's what I'm guessing, since I bought the flywheel seperate

alright, i realized that i did not have the green wire going into the c103 on the harness connected, which is the one that goes from the non existent obc for the engine to the main relay. I connected to the green wire coming from the c101 in the e30, which according to the etms is the same wire coming from the obc and the ignition switch which will cut the power if no circuit is made.

I'm currently charging the battery and im going to see what happens when I'm done.

Apparently the flywheel is the stock flywheel from a 533i

if it is from a 533, you have the pickup sensors

The green wire with the orange plug looks more like an ABS sensor or airbag connector. Not sure about the little brown / green yellow connector...

You need to get the ETMs for the year of your E30 and the year and model this engine came out of. They will help you figure out what goes where on the C103 which still seems like your problem area.
