Doesn't sound too bad other than radiator mess lol. So the firewall/tranny tunnel was left untouched? -
sure can,and NO subframe spacers, I made sure when I was building it that you could do a clutch job w/out having to pull the hole dam motor. the rad was/is still a pan in my ass. I had to cut 3/4 of and inch out of the front sub frame (rad support) in order to get it to fit, the rad its sell started out as ford bronco 2 that I then had to custom mod both end takes, then I used a e3m3 coulant res with a spall 14 fan, oil cooler ect...Leave a comment:

PRetty impressive! The engine is WIDE but it's short, so I guess it's a trade off lol. How much work was involved for the tranny to fit etc? Can you do the clutch job or remove tranny w/o pulling the engine etc? What radiator and hoses did you use?lol...lets just say you need to get a running start in order to get it to fit....
I only have a few becouse my cam took a shit during the first week of the build,,,but here are a few
there should be a few in my album under my profile
but I used the stock e30 5 speed trans crossmember, the rear half of a stock e30 shaft and a custom front half, as well as cutting about 3 in out of a stock e30 shifter arm and selector rod, oh and it has working ac :-D
Very cool!Leave a comment:

I have the spacers & the mounts, they're good quality and fit the engine nicely to good position. Though lowering the front subframe isn't good thing to do but can't help..
I dunno if there're many manual E39 540's around there, but here in Europe you can buy one for 3-5k€ so that's the best combination to start with.Leave a comment:

Do either of you have the mounts/spacers from the posted 300mm link? Loved the m60 in my 540i, did not love the 3700 lbs of e34 that it carried. m62's are dirt cheap, unfortunately the 6 speed trannies are not.Leave a comment:

Let's try if forum-software understands this..Yes it's up'n'running :) I don't have OBD2 but if i've understood correctly it's exactly the same as with M50 / M52 so no big deal.
Engine bay is painted, still missing brake discs, exhaust and some small things. Should be driveable in couple of weeks if i've time to build it. Damn school :D

Rest of the project pictures.
Old start-up video without exhaust.Leave a comment:
