^ where did u buy those parts ? Are they pretty good quality?
( i bought some oil seals, gaskets at bmw online parts warehouse, turned out a couple of the items are made in china,with Erling Klinger brand, o yea...it leaks after 5000 miles !)While the other same parts made in germany dont leak.

Oooh, I hadn't seen that first chart you posted Jean! Thats going to be handy when I do my E28 B35 swap this summer (It's officially un-sold now). No more back and forth between two charts!

drift - autohausaz and blunt here on the forum is where I get all of my new oem parts from. And I realized that I forgot the timing chain/guide/rail stuff :(

I misunderstood. I thought one WITH a removable bh would allow you to do this, not one w/o ...

G260 - Non removable bellhousing (harder to remove once in the car)
G265 - Removable bellhousing ( far easier to remove once in the car, 4 bolts and out FTW)

Just to help clear things up alittle more.

Yep, and then there is like 3 different versions of G260 (m20, early m30 and late m30 iirc)

Alright so today I spent about 6 hours taking the b35 all apart and need to order a couple more parts. The timing tensioner, guide/rail and maybe the oil chain tensioner or whatever it's called. I wasn't planning on doing a head gasket, but I figured might as well do it now and make sure block isn't cracked like my m10. Pulled the head and looks like the crosshatching is fine, and block isn't cracked. I am not sure if I want to pull the end caps and inspect the bearings, I need to price them out and maybe I'll just do that. But then it get's close to, should I pull the pistons out too and get the block hot tanked as well? have to draw the line somewhere... sigh.

The only thing that I am worried about a little is the color of the exhaust valves? Is that normal?

Loks like it's coming along great!

The head bolts should be replaced whenever the head is removed. They are stretch bolts = one time use.

Alright. As much as I want to do the bearings and rings I think I'll leave those alone after adding everything up in my shopping cart.

they are not stretch bolts, thats the m20 head bolts,

so you can reuse them, but it seems like you are really doing things right, there is no sense and not replacing them for peice of mind, they are cheap.

the tear down is looking good, keep up the good work

Drive-shaft arrived, looks like u-joints were serviced. I checked the movement and it's smooth from what I can tell w/o any binding.

Radiator/Tranny/Mounts haven't arrived yet.

Definitely replace that orange guide - mine was shattered into my oil pan and pickup...I could tell my bearings had seen low oil pressure. @_@

Yep, I am ordering 11311253236 timing chain guide/rail, 11311262273 timing chain rail, 11311744347 tensioner piston and A6035-72779 oil pump chain tensioner as well. Will probably get new head intake and exhaust studs and copper nuts as well since they are cheap.
