Just buy a SPAL clone fan on ebay and they come with directions. There are also a couple of write ups for this fan floating around. Idk what volvo fans go for but these fans are like $30-40 newLeave a comment:

^Yes I do. Not all motors are the same and perhaps my fan clutch was not in the best shape or some other factor. But yes, I have dyno sheets from before, and after the fan delete. YMMV.
Not selling anything, just giving personal experience. Take it or leave it... matters not to me. I'll enjoy my extra 7hp no matter what you believe.Leave a comment:

You have documentation to prove the stock clutch fan is a 7whp drag on the engine?The efan made a HUGE difference on mine. We're talking 7rwhp on the dyno. I run a volvo dual speed efan, though I always run it on high. Have no problems keeping the motor cool with the stock shroud in place. That's sitting in parking lot traffic with the a/c blasting.

AC makes a HUGE difference. The condenser reaches temps above 120F. Your aux fan is just blowing that hot air onto your radiator at idle.Leave a comment:

I'm also running the Volvo fan, with a custom shroud. It is hooked up to the temp switch that used to control the aux fan, and there is now an intercooler where the aux fan used to be. It has never come on high speed and I have never had an issue with it being able to keep the engine cool, even in traffic or on track on 90 degree days.
And boost is awesome and can be done for cheap. That said, my head gasket just went, and it does put more stress on an engine. Not that I had many illusions about how long a 250k mile gasket would hold up, hah.Leave a comment:
