Run the engine with the heater on until it's warm, then drain all the coolant. Now measure out EXACTLY 7 qts. 50/50 mix into a container. Now restart the car (with the heat still on) and begin refilling the rad. reservoir out of the 7 qt. container. At first it will be easy to fill, but as you've put more and more coolant in, the reservoir won't gulp coolant as rapidly. At this point, begin repeatedly squeezing the upper radiator hose until bubbles gurgle up into the reservoir, making more room for coolant. Repeat this process until all 7 qts. have been added. Now shut the car off and go inside and have a beer and wait for the car to completely cool down. Go back out and check the level in the reservoir. It should be a hair above the "Cold" line. If it's way above, you've still got air in the system. I've used this method successfully several times.

Although, you could also have a simultaneously faulty inst. panel ground and broken heater valve.

So yesterday I checked the heatercore coolant was circulating through it, still does the same thing actuly when the gauge read 3/4 I took the cap off and put a thermo inthere it. Only read a bit over 140 "degrees. Pulled the rad and water pump water pump was a metal impellar item and did not appear defective
Im starting to think the cluster is faulty. And will pull that tomarrow and mess with the wiring And grounds back there And if that doesn't work I'm prob going to put one of my spare motors in it m52 or small block chevy

before you did all this did you take a temp measurement with any other gauge other than the stock one?
