    M42 value? .

Did a lot of searching but most threads I found for M42s for sale all had "SOLD" where the price was.

I have a 91 318is, motor has roughly 200k on it. Very meticulously cared for. In the last 3 years, it's gotten a new water pump, timing chain tensioner, alternator/bracket, spark plugs and wires and ICV. I've always run Castrol Syntec 5w40 and changed every 3k. Also did the mess under the intake.

I'm listing it for sale soon, but not entirely sure what's is worth. I'd be selling it with the DME and harness.

I could also throw in a G240. Also cared for and run Royal Purple fluid

They go for $300-500 around here depending on condition/trans/accessory inclusion. Clearly you can find them for less, but that's essentially what you pull it yards charge.

It would come with everything. Engine, dme, harness, trans and driveshaft. The engine won't come with a/c or power steering.

Ran a compression test recently, read 180 across the board.

Lol I've seen anywhere from free to around $600. Some dude local to me wanted 7 for the engine and tranny. Those are crackhead prices. Might as well go M50

I drove to Louisville from Detroit area for $150 M42. If I recall it had around 150k on it and was never opened up...that was 3-4 years ago too. No trans included.

The m42 in my car is for sale at $100 but you'll have to buy the whole car to get it. I might let the car go for $8k but maybe not. Last time I was at the yards I bought a m42 cylinder head for $40+$20 core. They sell long blocks for ~$150+$50 core charge.

Yeah, now that it is running I am enjoying driving the shit out of it. My coworker who is a big S2K fan is impressed with it and one of these days we'll go settle things at an AutoX. He makes a little more power, but apparently his car is like 400lbs heavier, so it'll be interesting for sure.

Man that sucks. I would probably take that sucker off your hands. Lol

@bmwman, how much power is you MM engine putting down? Sounds like a lot of fun
