    Water leak?

    So I brought a 318is 2days ago this is really my first time working on a car, the previous owner told me there was a water leak and I've taken picture of it, what holes is this pic below

    There was a safety recall so that hose was cut to install a bypass valve. Goes to the heater core.

      Yup, heater hoses. If you're lucky, it's the hoses, not the adapter that mounts
      to the back of the head.
      You can delete that thermostat if you want to- it's a fix for a problem that doesn't
      affect most of us.

          You should fix it.
          Losing water is a surefire way to kill an M42
