Hey so I figured out today my new 2 week old flea bay MAF is bad. I don't want to do the $400 conversion what should I do?

First you should know the M42 does not use a MAF but an AFM. Its a huge difference. You can send your AFM to us to be refurbished. We've refurbished hundreds of AFM's with great success. You will noticed increased engine power, better idle, and ability to pass smog easier. Email me bavrest@gmail.com

well sorry, also the AFM is a brand new AM one i been using it for a 2 months. why would it need to be refurbished?

I could be interested. Dont know if my AFM is in need of a refurb or not since I've never seen it run... but Im curious

your mechanic could be wrong, yknow. loss of power huh?

go through the basics (check TPS resistance, fuel system tests, air filter, ignition system)

alot of people are quick to point a finger at whatever but those are the same people who buy new parts that dont solve their problem.

All of that stuff is brand new oem stuff I replaced everything

Wouldnt it be plausible he's already gone through this stuff?

It's pretty easy to test the AFM with an ohmmeter- they're painfully basic, electrically.

I find it's a lot easier to do out of the car- Pelican Parts has a good writeup on it.

Cool, well today I get in to car it drove just fine well I only drove it 3 miles. I just curious what the hell it could be but only happen when I drive it hard.

It's difficult to diagnose a problem with such little information to go on. The M42 was pretty advanced for 1991 and there are a lot of things that can affect driveability and power. What all has been replaced and what all symptoms are you experiencing?

Well today, i figured out a new problem. i get under the car and i set incoming line to the fuel fiter shotting out gas so. I'm jack her up here in a few and replace.
