The 02 sensor for european car bypass only affects hot starts, not cold ones.

        I have it unplugged.

I say you just stop by Bill Arnold's spot. He wont charge you to poke around your car for a few minutes.

Do you have an afm adapter lead? I've heard that some 318's have them and some don't. maybe someone took it out thinking it wasn't necessary

I didnt have one originally. but now I am running one on the car. didn't make a difference.

I think I might just have to buy a brand new crank position, as well as camshaft position sensor.

Damn - that kind of problem - going on for that long - would drive me pretty crazy.

I put thought into it - and couldn't think of anything you haven't tried already.

                            Good luck mate.

I had a very strange issue with WARM starting. If the engine was cold, or hot, it was fine, but lets say I ran the car for an hour, and went inside to eat for 30 minutes, and then came back out, the car would not start. I tried various things but nothing worked. Finally one day it would not restart after putting gas into it. I called a tow truck, but after 40 minutes of waiting for a tow the engine cooled sufficiently and it started. I drove it to the mechanic and told them what was up. As I recall, it took a few tried, but it turned out to be a camshaft position sensor that was the problem. Since replacing that part, I've never had a single starting issue. I dunno if this helps, but I figure it couldn't hurt.
