This is what's currently in my 86 325es (built 04/86). Is this a large or small guibo?

small. quickest way to tell is by the step down in the shaft itself right before the flange.

I picked up the re manufactured shaft today that came out of a 89 325i.
The guy showed me the car it came out of. He is putting a LS1 in it. Got home and layed them side by side and they look identical. Trying to put it in now but I think I will have to drop the trans a little to slide the guibo/centering pin on.

I finished the drive shaft install. The 89 325i manual shaft does fit a 86 325es (BD 04/86) for future reference by anybody.....

Weird, i think i pulled a g260 out of a 6/86 325 and it had the larger flange while my 12/87 vert has a smaller flange. I just put my smaller one on though...

Nothing weird about that. Sounds right to me.

Ha. My 2/87 e had a LARGE guibo... and looked for all the world like it came from Bavaria like that.

BMW. They did things their own way...

^ post 9/86 production 325e's had the 96mm guibo. I just picked up an 87 eta d/s for my S52 swap, and everything plays together nicely.
