If I want to change my rear diff bushing, can I just remove my diff cover to do the replacement? This would be easier than dropping the whole diff, right? Any precautions I should keep in mind?
Thanks!
Thanks guys - looks like I will still need to drop it some. I plan on send the diff out for a full rebuild sometime next year, but I really need to stop the annoying clunk from the back end in the meantime.
I have an LSD I bought I have a Garagistic bushing coming for it. I could use a shortcut to get the intact perfect looking bushing out as well as input as to what to do to it prior to install.
It sat in a Phoenix storage unit for 10 years should I open it up and change out all the seals?
i wouldn't even think about changing the diff bushing without a press. def do the output flange seals, o rings, fluid of course and since the cover has to come off you'll do a cover gasket as well.
Input shaft seal requires a little finesse so if it's not leaking I'd leave it be
