i like to keep sports cars as close to 50/50 as i can. i think motor swaps arent that great to begin with.

haha i like the last post i was thinking this the whole time i was reading..
so theres a guy on e30tech putting a 5.0 outta a stang into one and hes updating it with his process which is very slow.. 5.0's are very cheap to get and rebuild and its very easy to up the power.. I would do it if i had the cash right now. I think its the cheapest v8 to do myself.

I will take on the 5.0 swap once Robert figures out everything needed. They're dirt cheap and plentiful! I'd get a blow one and do a full rebuild with some nice performance goodies. The 5.0 may not be as efficient as my s52, but it sure make a hell of a lot more torque! Plus with aluminum heads they weigh less than an LS1!
Only issue is having to convert to manual brakes.
The m60/2 swap is cool, but the performance market is horrible and costs a shit load.Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

If you want to go fast, swap M50 turbo. If you want good economy, swap M52. And if you really want those antique pushrods, pay ridicilous 150$ for a book and swap the engine in..
Not to say specific horsepower isnt a great gauge of the quality of engineering and tech that went into an engine, but when talking about what to swap into a car? Really?

Yea well, i've been studying machine engineering / combustion engines in M. Sc. program for five years now so i might have bit "out of normal world" - view on these things.. Plus i'm huge BMW fan..
Anyway, to the point which is, that best way to get power from E30 is to swap BMW 6-cyl engine (which all are quite same after all) and turbocharge it if it's not producing enough power as it is.
Superchargers and yankee-V8's are best left to shops' shelves.- E34 M5 (x 2) -

I have a cummins in my daily driven truck and get 23-24 mpg average with it.
my wifes 4.4 X5 gets 17mpg average.
now mr smarty pants, tell me how the BMW V-8 is a better more efficiant motor than the cummins?
the truck is heavier, bigger displacement and has more power on less fuel.
go ahead. tell me.

Well well smartass, you could start by telling me which engine is in your truck and then i can tell you more about how bad it is.- E34 M5 (x 2) -
