I'm using the E34 530i 5 speed, front half of the E34 driveshaft, rear half E30...

Does the e30 slip yoke mate up to the e34 piece? I am wondering if I should sell the '02 Getrag six speed I have and just go with the 5 speed unit and save myself some fab work. Thoughts? Keep in mind I already have an E32 front section with the 105 guibo and plenty of e30/ e36 rears to send if I get a driveshaft made.

I've scoured that site but 200 euros seems a little steep to me for mounts. I'm sure they're amazing quality but that's like $300 plus shipping.

That's why I said they were salty and I just made my own... too much for just some mounts that were pretty simple to fab...

If it's a 6 speed from the E39 540, you should keep it, do the fab work and be happy. The clutch arrangement is simpler when starting with that transmission. That should outweigh any fab work for the trans mount, etc. Even if you have a custom shaft made, which I still may end up doing, it's worth it... the E30 rear section makes me a little nervous, especially when I put the VAC ITB setup on the M60...

              My 2 cents...

I have a line on a B44 that I may snag and do the same thing... yeah ITB's are the way to make good power w/out FI with these motors...

Same here, found a 97 but mileage is a little on the high side so I haven't pulled the trigger on it.

Got a link or anything for the vac itb setup, hopefully with actual dyno numbers etc?

Just the info on their site, but they have made in the 500-600hp range with the M60s in the ALMS cars for a while now...

Lots of stuff on their site

There is no "slip yoke" in E34 driveshaft, they have the thing that can change lenght (no idea what it is called in english, maybe "constant velocity joint") in the rear end of the driveshaft.
I used E34 front part and slip yoke from a MB combined with E30 rear part.

The E30 rear section is same diameter as in E34 V8 so it should be up to task. Just make sure all the parts are new and all is aligned well.. The front parts take the highest load and thus they should be swapped to e.g. E34 540 parts.

Sorry to hijack guys, but would anyone have a picture of the position of the sprocket with the pick up for the camshaft sensor at TDC?
I'm going through the OBD1 conversion on M62, but I don't have an M60 on hand, and therefore can't check the exact position of the sprocket to time the engine.

                          Thanks in advance!

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy M60 timing end covers and bolt them on? :)

This helps out tremendously, I had no idea the e34 center joint wasn't adjustable like an e30's. Thanks for the help fella's.
