I'd rather find R when looking for 1st than R when looking for 5th!

Yeah, seriously. Hopefully there won't be any interference between the mechanicals of the tr6060 shifter assembly and the reverse lockout....

Wait, am I blind? Where is the 6060's reverse lockout?

It's hard to see in this photo, but it's on the "top" side of the extension housing, with the electrical connector pointing away from the camera.

So I'd need a turret housing that would accommodate both the shifter as pictured and the Corvette reverse lockout solenoid. AFAIK, GM never made anything for that, so I'd have to machine the housing (and probably a part or two inside) in order to make it work.

R is to the right of 5th. The solenoid normally keeps you from shifting into R. When energized, it allows you to shift into R.

There's also the CAGS solenoid, but it's ok to leave that one out (as long as you plug the hole).

                  And CAGS is???
Ok, but that R solenoid should not be a problem to connect to a switch, right? Or is it dependent of some ECU or similar?

In the original application, the reverse lockout is operated by the ECM, but I've read that it can work fairly well when operated by a switch on the brake pedal.

CAGS = Computer Aided Gear Selection
It's an emissions/fuel economy bandaid that under certain circumstances (RPM, Load, etc.) will lock out 2nd gear in such a way that when you try to shift from 1st to 2nd, you shift straight from 1st to 4th.

That's retarded! Why would a car like the vette have something like that? It's a sportscar! That one is being eliminated at once. The reason why i want to drive stick is because I! want to controll the gears, not some ECM...

haha I remember my dad's WS6 with CAGS. It drove him crazy when he first got the car.

                            Waiting on progress pics!

I don't get why the CAGS solenoid has to be on the side of the trans and the R solenoid is on the top of the vette trans... Seems like it would have been better for us if they were reversed... Then the R solenoid would be easier to run, and everybody hates CAGS anyway, 'cause it's BS LOL.

I don't think GM designs their transmissions for people to put them into '30's pickups or '80's BMW's... ;)
