    Trans: ZF 5-speed transmission (530i)
Flywheel: JB Racing E39 540i flywheel
Clutch: E36 328 Clutchmasters Organic Stage 1 kit
    Slave cylinder: 530i

I may be a bit confused since I am just trying to wrap my head around the M60 swaps.
I am using a very similar setup
    m60b40
    530i 5 speed w/ factory slave
e39 540i uuc lightweight flywheel (similar to jb just abit extra but I was told the quality was better)
I went cheap on my clutch its a e36 328i stage 2 gripforce? I believe. We will see how long it lasts. The pressure plate is a rebuilt luk so I have high hopes.

So on the oil filter setup feed and return....Which port on the block is feed and which is return?

Also the line with the two banjo bolts that used to come from the oil filter and housing and go to the oil pan...Is that safe to just cap off at the pan? An Audi drain plug fits perfectly and I would think it was just an extra return but I am just making sure.

Yap, that's the return / drain from oil filter housing which is only used when the filter is being changed (or at least should be, depending on the condition of the one-way valve in the oil filter housing).

Can be blocked but it will make changing oil filter a bit more dirtier job, though you'll be using different type of oil filter & housing anyways?

Yup I'll be using a remote mount spin on. All the mess will be going straight down into a bucket not all over my timing cover.

I welded up the booster hole and the clutch master feed and return holes. I finished those up and noticed a nice little rot hole starting on the corner of the battery tray so I cut it out and I welded a plate up sealed them up primered and rattle caned the firewall with some bedliner I had laying around. I figured nobody is going to see it so black was fine. The bay will be able to get sprayed at a later date body color. I also changed the intake gaskets, back oil breather plate and scraped some carbon off the intake ports. I bolted up my flywheel and clutch as well as the tranny tonight.

I figured I should take a picture of the flywheel since it cost more then my engine.

They work fine and are buried. I have a gromet around the firewall where they come in. Ive never been much of a fabrication guy......maybe ill revisit them.

I wired up my x20 connector last night. Since my car is an 86 there were a few wires that were different from garagtastic and our wiring thread. Once I verify the cars runs, hopefully this coming weekend.... I will post up my schematics.

i still have to figure out the coolant reservoir mounting. it seems the hood is going to hit the cap so i need to do a test fit then reinstall/weld my radiator support on.

Cool build. Hope to do an m60 swap too in the coming months.

I got the radiator support installed again and decided to use the factory e34 condenser fan as my cooling fan.

I am still trying to figure out a solution to my reservoir and heater core lines. I am toying with the idea of a sealed system and put a fill in the upper radiator hose. I am not a huge fan of the idea though. The lower hose in the picture has a little flat spot but still has almost all its flow. The picture is deceiving...
