What did he quote you? A new dual mass Luke flywheel is about $450, as in brand new.

$100. I felt was sorta a rip off compared to other places that will do it for half that.

Just buy one new. There is absolutely no point in resurfacing a DM flywheel. They're made as consumables.

But that's for a single mass, not dual mass.

Yeah I decided today I'm just gonna order a new one. Ugh the $450 though is why I thought maybe a resurface would be a good idea but it's really worn out and way too rusted now to even bother.

              True.

Yeah dude! Come by next weekend, I think me and my brother are gonna try a test fit this weekend but we'll see though because he only has Sunday off and I'm not sure the wiring will be ready by then. I'll PM you my number.

Most places won't surface a DM FW because there are two pieces. They don't have the equipment to hold both parts together so they literally cannot resurface them.

Also, search around, call around. Lots of people with more money than sense will slam LTW flywheels into their cars then slam their cars into a wall. That's how I got my VAC flywheel, M5 clutch, etc.

Hear ya on that. I'll be ordering an OEM replacement LuK flywheel since I already have the clutch kit to go with it.

                    Update: June 9th

Today was the first test fit and it went really well. I got the subframe spacers installed but the sun was already down so I couldn't get any shots of it. I'll save those pictures for later when I get my steering shaft assembled and installed soon.

But all in all, the motor fits perfectly into the engine bay but I still to bang in my transmission tunnel and firewall to give more clearance for the rear coolant lines. Modified my batter tray too to give room for some hoses on the rear of the motor. I'll be also modifying my core support to fit my OEM replacement Z3 M radiator farther away from the power steering reservoir too.

Stay tuned! I'm trying to get this done fast.

I am excited to see what you will do for the absentee pins on the wiring harness (pins 8,9, 14, 15) since the 87 and prior do not have those pins.

                                Update: June 18th

The wiring and brake lines are complete! Still need to run a line from the clutch pedal master cylinder to the transmission when the time comes.

Two of these are going to be spliced into the C104 connector and the third into the green connector that goes to the tach. (M60B30 X20)

My other Vorshlag U-Joint will be here this week so I'll have pics of my steering shaft setup soon.
