I'm sorry for the lack of updates I have been really busy with a new welding job n boy my boss I swear is the hardest person to impress...and he builds nothing but big blocks. So when I told him what I was building he laughed at me...until I said I could add a snail to it hehehehe
But anyway I have just been tiding up the loose ends and getting this thing ready for a big local meet coming up here in Kansas City.
Got this in the mail this evening, no power steering or brakes and a 4.10LSD man this is going to be one hell of a daily in the summer

All that's really left now, is a temp sensor (sender), add coolant, finish making a overflow tank since I don't wana drag a hose all the way to the battery box to use the OEM 325i one. Also buy O2 sensors, accelerator bracket, make intake and add coolant and go for a test drive. Btw talk to my tuner this past weekend an we looked over the car n everything is a go for tuning, he actually couldn't beleive I stuffed the M60 in there hahaha..but I will keep you guys updated as much as possible

The factory manifolds aren't great, especially the m62tu manifolds that most of us use, but at least BMW paired the cylinders for pulse tuning so there isn't cylinder pulse collisions all over the place like in a log manifold. They are actually a 4-2-1 design, you can see that if you cut one open, which is definitely good.
Not knocking your work, they look great, I'm just curious, and maybe a little skeptical, of how the flow compares to the factory manifolds. A lot of engineering goes into header design, there's a ton of math that needs done to be able to design something that maximizes flow, and it's easy to mess it up and really inhibit flow.
Did you ever finish your exhaust system? I remember your drivers side down pipe being really close to the ground, just wondering how you're doing on ground clearance. I know mine drag all over the place and I have mine tucked almost against the body, it's a PITA.

My dad talks about Corvettes in the 60's, with 350 HP 327 engines, 4 speed transmissions and optional 4.10 gears. RPM limited at 120, but ridiculous acceleration at highway speeds.
You may end up stepping off in 2nd most of the time, because the engine will have MORE than enough torque to do that without any problems.
You might want to look into a 2.93 or 2.79 LSD from a 325e, though. The ZF has a 4.20 first gear, so you don't need much gear out back to pull hard in 1st.

just read through this whole thread. Great work man! Those headers look pretty simple and effective. where did you get the piping to make them? approx cost?
also, i didn't see on your posts, but what clutch are you running with that 530i flywheel? from the ebay screenshot, looked like it said 330i? couldn't see exactly though...
good work man, keep it up!
