I cannot recommend the link above. I got a new tuned ecu for less than that.

Question about the M62 oil filter housing. Can I mount this upside down?

I have a perfect location, but it would only work if the unit was upside down.

You could, but oil changes would be messy, as the drain valve that opens when the cap is slightly loose wouldn't work due to, well, gravity. All of that oil would dump out of the big 4" opening, and it would happen as soon as you start unscrewing the cap since the seal is at the top of the cap.

Where are you considering putting it? I put mine where the A/C drier used to be. Fully hidden and easily accessible.

            Opposite side of that.

I have an extra remote setup and I am going to play with bending the hard lines to fit right side up behind the drivers headlights.

If not did you just weld AN fittings onto each housing? Can you not cut the AN lines and barb them with high quality rubber?

Possibly, but I had JIC fittings brazed onto the hard lines for like $10, and it seemed like a better leak-proof solution for the pressures involved. I see 70-80 PSI at anything over 1500 RPM's. This is after I dealt with an aftermarket filter/cooler setup that I dealt with so many failures on: 3 oil coolers, 3 filter housings, probably 10+ oil filters exploding, etc... I was done taking half measures haha.

If you can't bend the hard lines, you could possibly braze a 90* fitting on them.

Nice - I am going to see if I can work my extra lines to fit where I need it. If not I will go the brazing route.

Well I was able to get creative with some extra lines.

Power steering is hooked up and the oil filter is relocated.

Before picture - notice how cramped (the oil filter) that would be with the brake booster relocation

                  And now:

Now I am going to redo all the brake lines (in the mail), install the coils and BBK while I am at it.

I got the wiring moved into the interior so that is progress, but it still needs to be cleaned up. Whole interior back in. I'll probably take the motor/trans out to redo the brake lines and clean everything up while its out.

Then throw some miles to work any potential gremlins out, put it up for sale, and start work on the LS M3.

Still doing some research on my asking price, but I figured with coils, bbk, sticky tires, late model coupe, black interior, clean title, etc I should be on the higher end.

Good idea on that oil filter location, I may steal that idea and put mine in the same spot. What did you have to do to the lines to make it happen?

                      Gently massage :)

There are also tabs on the tubes that slow them to not twist. I removed those so they can swivel until tightened.

Got any pictures of the oil lines???? as i'd really like to put mine there but with the shape of the hard line seems impossible without completely remoulding the hardline

I'll have some in a week or two when it's all back together. Motor is out to redo all the brake lines.

Car is running again. Need to bleed the brakes then she is back on the road. Still need to put some of the front end and and then whole interior back in, but she is running like a top and the power steering it working.

I've put a couple hundred miles on it with no hitches. Should be for sale within the week. Sad to see it go, but excited to start working on the M3.
