lets see if anyone can figure this out. i have a m60b40 using a m60b30 dual mass flywheel. what pressure plate fits? i tried using an m52b28 pressure plate from an e36 and it does not fit. I've heard you can use the stock m60b30 clutch setup but i plan on doing performance mods later down the road. i already have the clutch disc with the hump in it to clear the flywheels center lip.

heres a picure of the TTV racing flywheel installed, great solution to this problem, it is steel but is still way lighter than the dual mass

i havent gotten a e36 clutch yet but soon

I have another question. my engine is 1995 540i and im using a 530i trans. how come my e39 540i starter wont fit. the actuall starter itself doesn't go through and the teeth don't match up. Am I doing something wrong or should it be as simple as popping it in place?

it took me 2 days to NY

Cost around 520 shipped. Price varies with exchange rate.

Emailing them will get the best results, they can confirm the fw you need for your application.

Also heard someone used a 530i flywheel n clutch and no slipping

Does anyone know how accurate these combos are? And also what do you recommend?
              I've just finished an M60B40 conversion in an E34 530i 5 speed.

We used the 530i flywheel and a new standard 530i clutch and pressure plate

I had a little bit of clutch slip at 4k rpm for the first few days but that's gone now.

I think in a lighter E30 this set up should be ok unless you're really hard on clutches.

If I have further problems with clutch slip I'll go to the TTV flywheel and an E36 M3 competition style clutch.

Any updates on the success of this option?

And here's a dumb question, for people with front mount crank wheels (M60s or adapted M62s if that is possible with the addition of the sensor to the front cover), why can't the e36 M3 flywheel be used? I saw that offered in another thread as an option a while ago. If it would work, it makes the flywheel cheaper and lighter.

                Here it is:

I am also running the ttv flywheel to s50 clutch. I use a s50b32 pressure plate with a sprung 240mm disc (S38b38 disc). Beware, this disc is too thick!! I had to space the pp 3mm from the flywheel to get it to work.

Apparantly the S50 disc is thinner. Anyway, it does work great now. No slip, and engagement is very smooth. So far so good, I have driven around 2k km's. Hard use also. Conclusion, get the S50 plate and pp together, and you have a good setup. You can always get the sachs upgraded pp, If you plan on adding more power.

                    Thank you Garage30!

Just to be sure I understand you though, could you please clarify whether you are using the S50 style ttv flywheel like this?:

Or are you using the ttv flywheel for the M62/S62 with the crank trigger notches machined in it like this:

I have a M60 so I use the M60 one without the crank trigger ring. I guess overal dimensions for both FW's are the same.

Ah! Very interesting... I thought anything spec'd out as a flywheel for an M60 would be cut for a 265mm clutch plate versus the 240mm of all the others in question. Apparently not. :-)

So just to clarify, both ttv flywheels are the exact same, the only difference is the m62 flywheel has trigger teeth to the cps??
