Not Another Cheap V8 Swap... (Pic Heavy)

Installing the harness which came with no directions and poor labeling proved to be a task. With two of us, we killed about 4 hours on something that I was certain would take a hour tops.

Also installed the Sikky Air Intake kit. Love it!! This is actually looking like a completed car. Now just need to get fluids into the car, everything double checked, motor primed and then time for first start.

We spent three long days this past weekend on the car and it shows. We accomplished a lot, ran into a few hiccups and even had to drill and tap the block but after all that, we overcame the task at hand!

Looks like the wiring specialties harness came with a 5 prong connector but the MAF I have is a 3 prong. I already ordered a new MAF from a 02 camaro with a 5 prong connector.

Pictured here is the clutch line and bleeder. We ran it up the drivers side header then wrapped it in heat shielding for additional protection

What's the cost and rating on that fan? Also make sure the fuel hose on that walbro is rated to fit in the tank. I used the kit hose and it blew on me after sitting in the tank for a week.

          Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

I believe the rep at Bimmerworld quoted 540 CFM with this fan, specifically the straight cut model which is a louder but has higher cooling capacity. Here is the link:

I was told the hose is rated for in-tank use but because I read similar reviews and comments like you just posted, I only used the kit line from engine bay to filter. I purchased high pressure fuel injection hoses from my local parts store to supplement the lines that came with the kit.

Good good you already thought of that.

540cfm? Mine's rated at above 2500 and I have overheating issues. I really want to move to smaller dual 3000cfm+ fans as pullers. Pushers are much less efficient sadly. Shrouding will help too.

                That's suppose to be 5400.

I hope it works out, they know I'm running AC and concerned about overheating. This is what was recommended. I'll be sure to watch closely and post a review later on.

What size/brand fan are you running?

it's a flexalite 16" something. I didn't put the fan on so I'm not super sure what the rating is. I have the model number somewhere but couldn't link it up to a CFM rating.

Defiantly give Bimmerworld a call. Both Gary Grey and Philip Wertz are familiar with LS swap e30/36 cars and Gary new a bunch of spec's. He assured me I wouldn't have any over heating issues with this fan if I ran AC. Only time will tell I suppose but his confidence and knowledge gave me confidence in the part.

I went with the oem fan from an e32 740 or 750i.(also 840 and 850i) It's huge, pulls tons of air, only costs 50 bucks at the junk yard, it's plug and play, two factory speeds, and fits with a little bit of modification to the core support.

This sounds like a great option. Do you have any pix of how it looks/fits?
