personally I would stay away from cross drilled rotors, just use oem. On the other hand my mechanic guarantees the zimmermans x-drilled rotors not to crack if they do he'll replace them for free... I still won't use them cause if the break you could crash.
Friend has zimmerman cross drilled on his 325is, they're great. I will most likely be getting them for my 325i when it comes time to upgrade the brakes.
My dad has driven more than 15k miles, 1 driver school, and 3 autox's with zimmermans on his e36 m3. They have not cracked or had any major problems to hinder braking performance since installation.
I'm running my second pair of Ate PowerDisc rotors in one year and they're cracked. The whole damn car (dash, hood, seats, etc) shakes whenever I step on the brakes. I'll never buy another Ate rotor again.

Well, the thing with Ate is that their quality control is hit or miss. They either make great rotors or shitty rotors with no in-between. The shop I work for no longer uses PowerDiscs on customer's cars because we have to warranty the ones that are bad. Despite all the good experiences other people have with em, I'm tired of playing rotor roulette so I bought a set of Balo rotors for my 5-lug, even though it cost slightly more than the Ates.

well anything about producs you read on the internet are just anecdotes. I don't know what to tell you, but I've been extremely pleased with mine, and will buy them again.
there are also PowerSlots (not ATE) but they cost more, you can get them from the tirerack.
