are e30's known for having slow gas gauges.

for example, im positive i have a 1/2 tank of gas (or whatever) and when i start the car its lower because my driveway is inclined. But it takes the car to be warmed up before it goes back to 1/2 tank.

is that due to a normal slow gauge or the o2 sensor waiting to warm up?

True story. We were talking about it earlier and found this:
"The signal from the oxygen sensor is ignored by the fuel injection control unit until the engine reaches a specified temperature. Therefore, when troubleshooting cold engine driveability problems, the oxygen sensor can be ruled out as a possible cause." - Bentley manual 3:8

I don't think the O2 sensor has anything to do with the reading of your fuel gauge.

the guy I got to the works mainly on older BMWs said a bad sensor will only affect milage by 1 or 2 mpg. Therefore my sensor hasn't been replaced in over 140,000 miles.

bad gas mileage and poor starting of car can be related to leaking injectors.

It can cause your car to run rich and clog up your cat. You can get a Mustang one and splice it with the e30 connector... they're only like $40.

an E30 fitment part can he bad for like $10 more.. is that really too much? no fucking around splicing wires (not sure I'd trust many people here to do something like that), 5 minutes to plug it in and you're done.

A Bosch part? Where? The cheapest I have found it is 82.90 plus 5.00 shipping. Thats 33.91 which is worth splicing to me. But obviously if I can get it delivered for 64.00 I will.

                          Thanks

I dunno, I've seen them on ebay all the time. your situation is a bit different since you don't live in the states, it might not be possible for you to get the same deal.

I have stuff shiipped to Laredo which I am going to next week. Right now the best deal for a e30 3 wire on ebay is buy it now for 72.99 or 109.00! I need to order tomorrow so it is there in time. :(

I tried to use the code on BMA for it and it's invalid :(

                              Thanks

Parker, I would just get 1 of these. People make too big a deal of splicing 3 wires. The convenience is worth maybe $10.
