    Camshaft options

    Time to spend more money!
The cam in my m20b25 is toast, so I need to find a replacement. Cost is obviously a factor (the cheaper the better), but I wouldn't mind spending a little more and getting a higher performance one.
BTW: It's gonna be my daily driver.

    My options:
    1. Stock cam $160 (eap4parts.com)
    2. 272 regrind $190 (Ireland)
    3. 278 new performance grind $325 (racetEp.com)

There's no way I'll be spending $500+ on a new Shrick, so that's out of the question. I remember reading that the 323i cam is actually an upgrade over the 325i, but nobody seemed 100% that this was correct.
Give me any input you have, or some other suggestions.

Of the options you mentioned, the IE choice seems like the best bang-for-the-buck choice....barely anymore costly than a stock cam. What is your car used for anyway? Daily driver? Track car? Dual purpose? I wouldn't get too agressive with the cam if you only drive on the street....its low end drivability will suffer. If its mainly a track car, you will want more power in the mid and upper revs. If that's the case, get the 278 from racetop.

Of course some may say driving with a 278 stick'd motor on the street is no big deal. Its gonna be up to your own opinion as to what is 'ideal.'

You going to need to buy a stock cam in good shape, and oversized eccentrics to run a regrind anyways. Just do it right, buy a Schrick, and be done with it.

Would getting the new one from RaceTEp qualify as "doing it right"? It seems like a much more reasonable solution.
Do you not need to run oversized eccentrics for Schricks?

I think you guys are referring to racetEp, E, not o, not racetop, but racetep.com.

I hope I am right, because racetop.com just leads you to an advertising search engine.

 My god, you are right!
Haha, well don't I feel a bit stupid. I guess I've never actually had to type out the address, it's just been in my history list.
That's what I get for running high resolution...

I have a Bekkers cam in mine but they are by no means cheap.

and 323 is more aggressive than 325

they're just schrick cams, unless you're talking about the regrind.
