    moto to VDO cluster ?

I swapped in a VDO cluster into my 325i and now it seems like the speedometer is reading about 10% faster than I am really going. Do I need a different coding plug? I know the moto's have an adjustable speedo and the vdo's do not, but I did not think it would be a 10% discression. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have not done this personally, but from my searching apparantly there is a slide inside the cluster on the speedo that you can adjust + or - to compensate for differences in minor tire size. I don't think it adjusts more than 5% though!

what is your tire size, differential gearing? that may play a role.

only tire size matters. The sensor ring on all BMW differentials are the same.

the size of the wheels doesn't tell you much about the size of your tires :p

                    How to

There's a little trimpot under the speedo to calibrate it.
