i replaced mine on my old eta, wasn't really fun at all.

but O.P check the Fuse first. could be that simple.

It could be as simple as the connector at the motor got disconnected. My 318iS was like that when I purchased it.

I was hoping this thread would be about an intermittent problem like mine.

I thought it was surprisingly easy. the blower motor was way friggn' harder. wiper motor was an hour taking it easy.

I had this problem on 2 of the E30's i had, both times it was the wiper switch. Try playing with the switch moving it in different directions and see if the wipers kick on, i used to wiggle mine back and forth and up and down to get the wipers to work until i was able to get a good switch to replace it with.

Well sadly, its a no go:(

I wiggled the switch, swapped the relay, and the fuse. I banged on it a little to try to get it unstuck, but to no avail. Then I put it on the slow setting and tried moving it by hand at the same time. I could hear it trying, but its dead

Well, guess I'd have to go through some more pain sooner or later. Should I go for that DTM look with a mono wiper? I kinda like it, but I wont center it in the center, Ill keep it low. Or should I stick with the double?

removing the linkage is an ungodly PITA. try replacing the motor first.
