    Air Filter

With the stock air box, can I use a K&N filter? I've heard that the oil that they use on them can cause problems with the AFM on some cars. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure about this.

you can use a K&N filter in the stock box, or you can take the box off the amf and use an adapter for a cone filter. both will work fine.

I have a cone filter on it now, but I've heard that they don't really help much sitting there sucking in hot air. So I'm thinking either re-install the stock box, or create a heat shield for the cone filter. Correct?

you can't hurt the AFM with oil. you're thinking of hotwire MAF sensors.

if you already have a cone filter, do the heat shield.
