    Stumped...Car won't start

    Help!

I am completely stumped. yesterday morning i go to start my car and all it will do is crank. Today i investigate the problem and i find out that the fuel pump and the spark plugs aren't starting up which means the ECU isn't starting them becuase some sensor is bad or giving it bad info. So, look toward the reference sensor for the flywheel and the crank speed sensor. I test those and they are within the ohms range. I have heard of the pin on the flywheel that the reference senser uses falling off so i check for that...pin is there. I reset my ECU...no go there either. All fuses are great. My fuel pumps all work; i jumped the relay and made sure of it. After all of this i am still left with a car that goes no where and 80 miles from school tomorrow... I need some help, and soon. What other things cuase this problem?

    Thanks

same happened to me 2-3 months ago. ECU was dead. no visible sign of failure, no reason for it to fail, just did!

Anyone else have this happen? Anyone know of a way that i can test for this. Anyone got a compatable (85 325e) ECU they want to sell?

hehe, though a bit mean, admittedly very funny :)

It's nice to try and help people on the board, but if you really don't know...let someone who does answer. You don't have to post an answer to every question, you know... :)

My O2 sensor's wire has been cut since before I bought the thing. (car)

I had this problem for awhile. I don't know why still. Maybe try disconnecting the battery, to make the ecu forget stuff? It could be the same intermittent problem I had... sorta just went away.

Definitly ecu relay or the ECU

swap some relays around to see if anything else stops working or the cars starts working,
if not ,, it´s the ecu
should be cheap anywhere close at the nearest bmw parts yard,
                    or just post a WTB

ECU was just swapped for a known good working 027 ECU. Still no start.
