but isnt it supposed to "learn" changes? Im about to install a Markd chip and 19lb injectors (they were $25 shipped) in my 318. I have been getting just over 30mpg so i will see if it changes, although im sure it will change a little becasue of the new chip and fact i havent driven it in weeks. (i will be flogging it)

technically you will run rich compared to stock conditions but if you have high flow intake and exhaust then your car will be running leaner than it normally would in which case injectors would help. im sure the better desing of hte injectors also helps driveability as mentioned. You won't get max potential out of injectors without software upgrade but you can still run them without it. running too close to an injectors maximum threshold is not a good idea (on the stock 14.5 ones) so 17lb upgrade is definitely a good upgrade for saftey margin sake. But 19lb injectors seem like pure overkill to me, you would never need that much fuel even with cams on a 2.5L.
Also if you get the larger injectors you could always get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and if you are running too rich you could simply just drop the fuel pressure a few PSI to fine tune and get just the right mixture. that plus a regular aftermarket chip should definitely take care of the tuning problem. custom chip is the best option but it would cost alot more.

Don't throw injectors at an otherwise fine engine unless you know if it is running lean. Bottom line: People, stop guessing what your car needs and actually test it.
