    slow 325ic auto

i know this car is going to be inherently slower than my 88 325is.. but its really really slow. I has all new filters, t-belt, hoses, mobil synth oil, trans does not slip... but its very very slow. also if i floor it (foot to the floor) it will not hit redline or even close (shifts @ 4-5k rpm) is this normal behavior? also.. this is a 1990, so i assume it has the 4.10 diff, right?

    Let me know

It should indeed have a 4.10, and it should get up to around 6,000 rpm. Are you sure you are pushing the pedal down all the way? Automatic's have a "kick down switch," the pedal would go all the way down unless you press extra hard and depress the button.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Like TJ said there is the kick down switch. However I'm pretty sure you figured that one out.

Beyond that... all I can tell you is that they really are that slow.

maybe your kickdown cable needs to be tightened? or you could just do a tranny swap :)

stick the tranny in 2nd gear and floor it. if it still won't move then something is up.

You may be able to adjust the cable, but I'd bet the mechanical limiter inside the tranny is getting worn out, pretty common when they get some miles on them.

have a friend race you in your normal manual E30 vs you in ur auto, or vice versa.

if either one of the car pulls 2 CLs on each other, then theres a problem.

my automatic cabriolet can keep up with a stock 5-speed coupe easily because of the 4.10
