    New Subframe Bushings. Install?

Im gonna order some new Urethane Subframe Bushings from Ireland Engineering and was wondering if anyone remembers the company that rents out the subframe bushing removal and install tool. I thought it was Pelican Parts but I couldnt find any info at their website. If no one rents the tool anymore, does anyone have some specs to make one?

I made one that I'd let you borrow but you're on the wrong coast. :(

I removed the old ones with a torch and installed the new ones easy, the urethanes slip and and clamp down.

No way Im paying $75 to rent that tool. Does anyone have the specs to make one. Ive got welding equipment so I can probably knock one out.

Or does anyone near the east coast have one I can borrow? Thanks in advance.

Don't rent the tool to get the job done. I recently took care of a subframe bushing replacement for a friend of mine. Once he had his subframe out of the car, I was able to apply a torch to heat them up. What you do is just keep moving the torch's flame around over the outside surfce until the bushing starts to smoke/melt. Have a sledge hammer handy and just give it a few hard strikes and it will come out. I had both bushing removed in about 15 minutes using this technique.

For installation, I hear that the IE urethane bushings just drop right in and clamp down (just like Ryan said). If you were replacing them with factory rubber bushings, then you would need some kind of a press to do the job. This is what my friend chose to do with his subframe so I took it down to a friend's shop (Porsche & BMW guy) and he pressed them in for me for $10.
