I appreciate that. I used that 5 seconds to talk to my BMW parts guy since there was a related thread on BF. My post may be helpful to some.
"I just discussed this with my friendly local BMW dealership parts guy so here it is from the horse's xxx (choose which end you prefer):
1. You can order a cylinder coded to your VIN that comes with NO KEY, but since it's coded, it will work with your original key. He suggested it showed up as NLA since it is custom per vehicle and is thus not an off the shelf replacement part..but it is available.
2. You can order a VIN coded key (by itself) that will work with the above replacement cylinder and with all your original functioning locks. PN 32321109800 List $47. Thats the PN for my 84 318i. It may vary as do the replacement cylinders above for which there are 4.
3. You CAN buy an OEM steel key blank PN 32321109801. List is $32, but as he said..why would you when you can have it VIN coded for an extra $17.
Each of these 3 items are separate orders.
There you have it."Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

Go to dealership with your title/reg/ID
get key code
go to approved locksmith that the dealer sends you to with that key code.
pay for key, drive car.
My local BMW dealership does not cut keys. I wanted to have one done there but they sent me to a locksmith instead. Cost was $0 for key code, $12 for key.
if you order the BMW blank key you can go and have them cut as many as you want (and pay less with your own blank).OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30
Euro e46 2005/6 320d 6mt gearbox into E30 with M20 hardy and beck 1985 327s engine
