One of the connecting points on your starter should have two cables attached to it. My money says you forgot to connect one of the cables. Totally guessing here, but you may only have the cable that comes directly from the battery attached (which is why you are cranking, but not getting spark).E30 Dinan Turbo

Well here's an update. I got the car running!!! I replaced the ECU, got a new engine wiring harness, and I guess something was also wrong with my ignition cylinder(orange pin behind it came out and had no connection), and purred right up! After owning it for a year, it finally started for the first time haha. Only thing is that I kinda ran into an issue, now that it's running. Take a listen. Yay...

I had a vw that had the same issue where it had no spark cranking but spark afterwards, my mechanic could not figure it out. then i took it to a vw specialist and he wrote me up for a pcm.
LMK how it works I might have a spare pcm lying around
EDIT: damn, missed out on 25 bucks. Good job on the self diagnosis
