    If you are cOnfident in your brake job loop the circuit for the sensors and be done with it. Just remeber to check your brake system regularly.

      Actually if im not mistaken, the light comes on when the wire for the sensor it broken or worn through. Its not from grounding out on the rotor. The little clips and metal pin is just to hold it to the caliper, and then once the pads get low enough it allows the clips to rub through to the wire, causing the circut to be broken. Hence why the light will also come on if the wire is just cut somewhere, or if the sensor is not plugged in.

        You are completely correct. Thats why its easiest to jump the plug (or wires) & delete the sensor altogether..since we ALL check our brakes routinely anyway, right ? :)

            The repair for a lighted brake lining lamp when the circuit is otherwise good is to re-solder the resistor on the cluster circuit board for that circuit.

              Thats one of the best descriptions for a DIY I have ever read. Almost makes me want to repair my brake lining circuit.
