Shit - i'm going to do that out of preventative maintenance. My driver's side is getting finicky. Like the action is bad when I go to lock it. It's hard to twist just enough pressure on the key for it to "single" lock - otherwise, it sort of pops over to double lock..Last edited by Simon S; 01-21-2013, 09:54 PM.

For anyone that is still wondering about this, I have a recent update: Called my nearest dealer today (Erhard BMW) and was quoted $33 for a new one, cut from my VIN.
The best part, I didn't even have to go in: I was able to fax in a copy of my registration and driver's license. I was told the new keys will arrive in 2-3 business days.
