I cannot get to the center ball joint nut on the control arm. I would like to do both arms, but I hear the passenger is a beast to get to and that arm is still in pretty good shape. Joints are tight. Driver's side is F'd in the a though. Ideas?

A stubby 22mm 12pt box end wrench will get the nut on the passenger side off. You can by one of those, or take an abrasive cutoff disk to an ordinary wrench.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Where can I get a stubby wrench today?

You can turn a standard wrench into a stubby with an abrasive cut-off disk in a right-angle grinder in a minute or so and even faster with an oxy-acetelyne torch configured for cutting.

Holy shit man, you are running in to way too many problems. I did it in a weekend my first time. The only problems I had were getting the ball joints free, and that was only until I got a pickle fork and they popped right out
