Where exactly do you plan on relocating it to and why?

As far as I know, no one makes a kit.

I second that; where are you trying to relocate it to?

He has an 85 318, so I'd imagine he's trying to move it to the trunk.

No need for a "kit". Just get the parts from an E30 that has a trunk mounted battery. ;)

I'd like to point out that the unibodies are different, so a standard 48/49 battery won't fit in a 318 like it will in other e30s.

On my roommates E28, to relocate his battery to the trunk, we went on amazon and bought an "0" gauge amp wiring kit for $20. Plenty long enough. I'm sure you could also find a cheap, long pair of jumper cables and do the same.

Does anyone do a rear strut brace / battery box combo ala the 2002 rear braces?

well, let's see, find someone who's left their 325is unlocked, and steal the battery cables
                        and block.

Or go to the pull-a-part for same.

hell, it even works for 2002's. Cheaper than buying welding cable these days,
and it has all the hardware and shit.

Nowhere in his post, either sig or below his avatar does it say what car. I'm guessing accident either knows him or searched to find out.

                            yes its a 85 sedan

The reason is, i will be putting an m20 in the car and another reason is because i would be cutting away the battery tray. i am doin a simple engine bay, bare in mind not a shaved bay. i did some reading up on the rear location of the battery theory. it is said the rear end tends to get a bit happy and thats the reason y they started putting the battery in the trunk to help with keeping it stable. I just wanted to know if any one has ever done it using the original parts from cars that came like that and wat would i need.
