I'm about to order a new thermostat. I'm pretty sure I need a new one, but even if I don't, they're only like $17, so it can't hurt. The problem is that those generic BMW part websites (alloembmwparts.com, aplusparts.com, gprparts.com, etc) list 3 different "degrees" of the Wahler thermostat: 80, 75, and 71 degrees. I don't want to flush and bleed my cooling system just to get into the thermostat housing to check the number before I'm actually changing it out. Does anyone know which one I should order for an '87 325is (produced 6/87)? Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this is a stupid question.

M20s run cool anyway.. I'd probably go with the 80.
I think go ahead with the 80 I've never had any problems with my M20 in hot or cold weather
