    Clunk from Rear End when off Throttle

    My car recently started having a clunking noise from the rear. I looked up some info on it in the Bentley and the only "symptom" section that somewhat applies to me is "4. Noise during on/off throttle or when engaging clutch". You can find it on Page 7 Section 11. To me, it sounds like there talking about a noise which is constant while on or off throttle.

    My clunk noise comes when you completely remove your foot off the throttle peddle, a single 1 clunk noise. While its not very loud at this time, its there and I'd like to fix it.

    So far;
    -I've replaced the diff fluid (replaced after this problem occurred)
    -Transmission fluid (before the clunk started)
    -Lowered the rear with H&R Sport Springs (before clunk started)
    -Bilstein Rear shocks and new shock mounts (before clunk started)
    -everything else replaced is irrelevant

    I have noticed the tranny mounts are really worn, along with the diff mount looking to be the original, but doesn't appear to need replacement. The transmission mounts will be replaced.

    If anyone has had this problem, a single clunk when you remove your foot off the throttle, coming from the rear end, please let me know what needed replacing. Ideas of the problem also help. The cars an Automatic.

    EDIT: I'd also like to add the clunk can also be heard going over speed bumps (possibly sub frame or rear trailing arm bushings?)

    Thanks!

      I've had a bad center support bearing in the past on my coupe, I doubt it but I guess it's a possibility.

        I recently saw a post about broken mounting "ear" on the top of the differential.
        Mine has a similar clunk, but when accelerating from a stop, and I'm wondering if this the source of my clunk.

          Maybe driveshaft? I have a similar clunk, and I'm thinking it's the driveshaft.

            I had a similar problem which turned out to be trans mounts that had turned to pudding from prolonged exposure to oil

              I was doing research and came across your comment somewhere. Your mounts where toast!

              Side note, If it is in fact the shaft I shouldn't have tossed the extra I had :(
