if you really want more power, go with a dual pattern and forget about regrinds. the difference between the lobes of my schrick 284/272 and my racetep 284 (supposedly "new" grind, but obviously a regrind) was laughable. I think catcams offers a dual pattern as well for a decent price - maybe it's not too late to get into that group buy.
What was the biggest difference between the lobes of the Shrick 284/272 and Racetep 284 "regrind", was it that the Shrick just had more lift or was it something else, what was the quality like?
Did you need different eccentrics on your shrick 284/272 or will the stock ones do?

they were obviously way larger: wider, taller, fatter - the lobes on the racetep were small and pointy, even compared to the stock cam. there is no way they could be the same, even with oversized eccentrics (which are required, and racetep never mentioned). you use stock eccentrics with the schrick.

That is exactly why I went with the Shrick,
Regrinds can work, but seriously, why cheap out on engine parts?
