    s52 e30 W/ NO Power

    Hey gang,

Long story short, I was driving the BMW Centennial meet here in Washington, and my car completely died on me.

Pulled over, and realized I had NO POWER whatsoever to the car. Flashers dont work, when key is in the ignition on the accessory position, the gauge lights dont come on, and none of the power options are responding.

Any ideas? From my research, a few members have mentioned the ignition switch, as well as the K5 and K7 relays. What i did notice was that at the battery terminal in the engine bay, one of the power wires were loose and could have potentially grounded out?

Any ideas or starting points? I have a a good working K5 & K7 relay as well as a ignition switch I could test, so I will do that tonight.

In the trunk, if the battery terminals are all good (they can corrode internally)
there is a fusible link in the smaller positive wire itself. It can mechanically fail, and do this.

Easy to test with a meter- at the front junction block, see if you have power
on the smaller (10mm nut?) connection.
