How to grease the antenna?

    Clean it thouroughly, and once in a while just turn it so the wind blows it and bends it back in the opposite direction.
    Hmmm... I wonder what will take the lithium grease off... might be a while.

        Another reason for the E30 M3 antenna switch.

        I can't even get the antenna seal I bought on properly. Bitch just won't go on all the way....

                      I use a fog light switch to turn mine on/off. since I never listen to the radio (not in the last couple years) it's always off. Anyhow, they actually make a product just for power antenna cleaning/lubrication. I just used a paper towel with some WD-40 (to clean mind you not to lubricate!!), cycled the antenna down and then up, polished it, and repeated until it didn't get stuck anymore.

                        anyone got a write up on how to rig up a switch to turn the antenna on and off (up and down)

                        i have always thought about using the blank button near the rear defrost button but i wouldnt know how.

                            Are you joking? It's a switch. You connect it inline with the power of the antenna.

                              My antenna only goes up half way,but I never use the radio anyways. sO I am going to shave it once when I get the car painted.
