    MarkD chip install anxiety!

So, I got my car, and it has a 173 ECU in it... but the 19lbs injectors are in my other E30. The E30 I want to install the chip in still has the 14lbs stockers. What could I expect to happen if I were to install the chip without the injectors? Would I even notice a gain, seeing that the injectors will be maxed out? What could go wrong?

I wont have time to install the injectors till this weekend, but a chip install is a matter of minutes. SO, enlighten me before I do something stupid.

I may be wrong but seems to me the worst that will happen is fuel starvation at full throttle which will only cause a seconds loss of power. Just don't drive at full throttle and I'd think it will be ok for a few days.

Stock 14lb injectors are good up to 200hp or so. The Alpina B2.7 uses stock 14lb injectors.

they probably aren't using the stock FPR though..

also, that's 200hp at 100% duty cycle.. not a good thing!

Just sayin ;) You can use stock injectors. It shouldnt run lean because of them.

            Lies.

I was on the dyno with MarkD when we discovered the limits of the stock injectors, and the reason he made two different copies afterwards. They maxed out at everything above 3500rpm, rather badly. Still relatively safe (the AFR was somewhere around 14-15), but I still wouldn't do it again.
