I'm not sure. Fuses can self destruct butnusually there's a reason. If it never happens again it was a fluke. If it does I have my work cut out for me

I won't ask WHY they are shooting at you but when you go hiking in hunting season don't wear the antlers

Reverse lights will be on constantly when ignition key is "ON"

My reverse light switch is dead but I'm not sure where the wires are. Good point

Reverse lights wires are on the dead (open) switch so that's not a likely cause.

I forget to mention, my odor which does have new gears stopped working a half hour or so from home. I thought maybe bad gears or one had slipped but the next day it was working fine and hasn't acted up since.

I still suspect there's an intermittent short lurking somewhere.

Check your ALTERNATOR… (need replacement)

Wilhol was close. The bare spot on the drive shaft is from the backup light wires wrapping themselves around the shaft. I now recall pulling them when I looked to change the backup switch but didn't. Either I forgot to put them back or didn't secure them properly.

The fuse blew from the short when it tore itself up. If I can't fix it I'll replace it...when I replace what broke today which is why I was under there.

I've put 1200 miles on it since I replaced the fuse. The alt is fine

very common issue with short to ground on number 10. also the most common way of driving an e30 without never increasing miles is pull fuse 10 and drive by tachometer.
